CROP | On Sunday we walk!

Team Leaders,

Keep up the good work in raising funds for hungry people! Just wanted to remind you about a few things before this weekend:

You can collect checks or cash from your congregation and send it to our Treasurer who is tracking all donations to:

*Laura Safran

29 Hillcrest Court,

Wappingers Falls NY 12590

Online Donations

I have helped a couple people navigate the web site to include offline donations (cash/check contributions) or other issues (https://support.crophungerwalk.org/.../enter-offline.../). If you have questions please check the frequently asked questions page (https://support.crophungerwalk.org/?utm_source=onecause...) for answers. If something doesn’t work the first time, please try later…and think how many must walk miles just to get water, food or safe place. Nevertheless, if you confront any technical problems with the CWS/CROP website (https://events.crophungerwalk.org/2021/event/poughkeepsieny) please email webwalk@crophungerwalk.org and they will be able to assist you. If it still doesn’t work, you can ask your donors to send a check,as they used to do it in the past. At CWS, they are aware of those random issues and are trying to sort it out with their software provider. I will say there are no problems for a majority of those who have donated to my walk. The important thing is that there are options, so let’s persevere!

2021 Flyer

Please download this 2021 Walk flyer (https://drive.google.com/.../1g4Yg2wtNvI6dVA_u.../view) .You can use it as a hand out. We do have some bulletin inserts at the DCIC office if you would like to use those too.

Please let me know if there are ways you need help.

Thanks again,

Taylor Holbrook

Ending hunger One Step at a Time!

Dear Leaders,

As we continue to prepare for our 2021 CROP Hunger Walk we recognize the hunger needs are real.   We celebrate the response you led in raising funds in 2020.  The Dutchess Interfaith Council CROP Hunger Walk was 13th in the nation in funds raised.  The total raised by the 29 teams  participating in our 2020 walk was $56,378.62. The total raised in forty five years of walking is $1,844,127.

Our 2021 walk is scheduled for October 17 from 10 AM to 2 PM, however with further complications from COVID we are not sure how that will work out.  We had great success with our virtual walk in 2020 and we want to continue to encourage people to raise funds in whatever creative ways they can.  Working with the CROP website makes it easy for teams and walkers to raise funds from near and far.

I am also pleased to introduce you to our new treasurer,  Laura Safran.  She will be taking over for Arlene Barresi.  We thank Arlene for her faithful work and look forward to Laura sharing her skills.

As team leader, I am asking a couple things of you at this time, please:

1. Click here to register your team with the Dutchess Interfaith CROP Hunger Walk
2. Encourage others to get involved, especially members of your organization .
3. Work with the social media person(s)* in your congregation to get the word out in creative ways.
4. Reach out to others. If you have contact with other congregations or organizations that should be involved with CROP, please reach out to them and have them connect with me.
5. Start walking and raising funds.

Thank you so much for your leadership.  If somebody else is taking over for you please let me know.  We are here to help in whatever way we can.

In hope,

Taylor Halbrook
